Director of Supply Chain Management
The Director of Supply Chain Management is a hands-on position that develops and executes Demand and Inventory plans that will enable the Company to meet sales and service objectives. The Director of Supply Chain Management oversees the steps that comprise the supply chain process, including materials management, manufacturing, logistics, distribution and managing the contract vendor relationships. The Director of Supply Chain Management manages the position of the Manufacturing Manager and works closely with all departments involved in the supply chain including sales, implementation, hardware development and accounting.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and directs procurement, production, inventory control, logistics and distribution
- Manages the Manufacturing Manager
- Implements and uses MRP (material requirements planning) and ERP; manages contract vendor relationships
- Manages contract vendor relationships & monitors supplier performance in responsiveness, cost, flexibility and relevant factors
- Monitors vendor financial condition to ensure ability to fulfill contract requirements
- Identifies, evaluates and selects materials and services providers based on requirements, responsiveness, cost, flexibility • Identifies and explains to suppliers the client’s purchasing needs, e-sourcing, proprietary sourcing and supply chain technology
- Implements inventory management strategies to ensure continuity of supply to clients • Creates and updates purchase orders
- Researches the planning of all “out of stocks” or lead time planning
- Implements and improves forecasting techniques, method and approach
- Leads forecast and inventory planning meetings , reviews recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals
- Manages inventory targets
- Facilitates best practices and consensus between functional experts in demand planning, inventory planning, purchasing, sales, marketing, operations, finance and IT
- Working with Accounting, develops and executes inventory policies and procedures to ensure adequate controls
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field of study preferred.
Experience: Six or more years supply chain management experience; health care technology and management experience a plus.
Skills:
- Expert level knowledge of supply chain management
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal & facilitation skills
- Ability to plan and implement complex MRP/ERP systems
- Strong understanding of information technology
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of technical requirements
Additional Information:
Occasional travel may be necessary, by air or by automobile. Must have valid state driver’s license for occasional travel by car.
